Homemade Beauty Products: Part II

Part II: Body Scrub

I was especially excited about trying out this part of the homemade beauty products as I love to have my skin feeling soft and smooth.  I used to buy over the counter body scrubs religiously but since becoming a mother, sort of forgot about this part of my beauty routine.  Anyways, below is how it's done!

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup fine sea salt
  • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil (I used apricot oil)
  • 2 rosemary sprigs
Directions:
  • chop rosemary leaves, then stir rest of ingredients together
  • massage the mixture into your skin using circular motions starting from your feet moving upward towards your heart
  • rinse
The sea salt is an excellent way to exfoliate your skin while the oil moisturizes. The rosemary is a natural anti-inflammatory therefore soothing your skin after scrubbing with the sea salt.

You will have a ton left over, so put the extras into a safe container and store it near your shower for other uses.  Also, a strong advisory note...be sure to clean your tub after you use the mixture as the oil will make it slippery!!!  We would hate to see anyone slip in the tub!

Enjoy!
